Emirates Air Line cable car

Great fun was had by 5 members of the group when we boarded the Emirate gondola at Royal Victoria Station and crossed the Thames to North Greenwich many thousands of feet above the water. It wasn't quite all fields when most of us were young but a nostalgia for the old docks wafted through the cabin . But none of us remember visiting them so selective memory there. Still it is quite an eye opener as to how the area both north and south of the river is changing. Out with industry and in with smart flats and leisure activities
From North Greenwich we walked up to Greenwich for lunch and a visit to the National Maritime Museum and the Turner and the Sea exhibition. It is brilliant and I would recommend everyone tries to get there before it closes
After the exhibition we were able to get the River Bus back to central London
A lovely day one to be repeated with grandchildren one day I hope
