Second part of Wey Navigation walk
7 of us enjoyed a surprisingly lovely walk along th Wey Navigation and Thames Path. Here are some pictures, and also a response from my son on the mystery tree.Pride of India Koelreuteria paniculata
Clapham Junction 9.27 one change, West Byfleet 9.57, or 9.29 no change, arrives 10.03. (annoyingly the next train after 9.30, does not arrive until 10.30)
Return from Staines station, there are regular trains to Waterloo and Clapham Junction.
In the morning a short stretch of the Basingstoke Canal takes us to the Wey Navigation. After lunch we can take the ferry to follow the Thames Path past Laleham Abbey and Laleham into Staines. http://www.walkthiswey.co.uk/wey_guildford_pyrford.html
There are 3 pubs at the confluence of the Wey and Thames, of which the Crown sounds the best bet.
