Slough to Taplow - Elizabeth Line.

10 of us had a jolly walk in wintry sunshine along the Jubilee River. Technically this is a canal dug at the Millenium as flood defences for Windsor and Maidenhead but it has been beautifully landscaped to look like a river and opened in 2002 as the Jubilee river
Amusing lunch at gthe Pinapple Pub with a unique orerding style for sandwiches
Elizabeth line: Bond Street 9.26, Paddington 9.30, Ealing Broadway 9.41, Slough 10.01. If there is a problem with the Elizabeth line there is a train 9.30 from Paddington which arrives in Slough at 10.0
The walk leaves Slough through Herschel Park and follows the Jubilee River, with reed beds and trees, recently constructed for flood relief. The path is described as mainly firm and flat. A shorter walk after lunch, a view of Eton playing fields, Manor farm and Dorney Weir.
The Pineapple. When you reach Dorney Wetlands the B 3206 crosses the path. Turn R, North, towards the M4 and you will find the Pineapple on the left hand side of the road.
