A circular Walk in the South Oxfordshire Chilterns above Goring

Margaret H, what a lovely walk. Classic Chilterns, woods, fields, pigs, views and finally a stretch of Thames. And an excellent, well organised pub. So thank you very much, as we say in France a la prochaine! Margaret M
Travel: First Great Western 08.52 from Ealing Broadway to Goring & Streatley arrives 10.01am (same train leaves Paddington at 08.43). Return trains hourly service at 38 mins past the hour from Goring & Streatley to Ealing Broadway and Paddington. There is a car park at the station (£2.80 on Sunday).
: Morning: Chiltern Way Extension, Wroxhills Wood, Woodcote Village, Whitchurch Hill. Afternoon: Coombe End Farm, Upper Gatehampton Farm. Then Thames Path or other local paths (a decision will be made on the day depending on time and fit with hourly train service) back to Goring & Streatley Station.
The Sun Inn, Whitchurch Hill. Traditional pub, bar food or Sunday Lunch. Pre-order on the day.
Notes: This is where the Chilterns Hills end as they gently drop down to the Thames at Goring to meet the Berkshire Downs on the Streatley side of the river. Woods and farmland paths and tracks, occasional lanes. Some mud if wet. Views to the Oxfordshire Plain in the morning, and towards the Thames and Goring Gap in the afternoon. Mainly gentle ups and downs, with one short steep up and down in the afternoon.
